Well, today marks the end of NaNoWriMo 2022. Between trips, a cold, and family stuff, November got away from me even more than I expected it to, so in the end I only had 8 writing days. But I did get over 20,000 words written in those 8 days which means, at that rate, I would have reached the 50,000 word goal if I had been able to write all 30 days of November. I am kind of sad that I didn't reach my NaNoWriMo goal but I am still happy with the progress I made and feel more confident for trying again next year. Don't worry, I will be finishing the novel I started, so keep an eye out here and on my other socials for updates to this story as I continue to write it over the coming months.

There were tables covered in food and drinks, musicians gathered on the stage filling the air with vibrant music, and decorations covering nearly every free surface. Everyone from the village was there eating, drinking, dancing, and sharing in the celebration. It had been ages since a new Calian had been created, centuries at least if the people of Caelis recorded the passing of time in such a way. This time it was a small village on the Western Continent that was graced with the role of raising the new Calian. It was an event worth celebrating and the whole village came together to prepare for the new arrival. I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year! For those who don’t know, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) is an annual challenge where you attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days (traditionally November 1-30). My writing period this year will actually be October 18-31 and then November 15-30 because I need to take the start of November off for a big family trip. I’ll also be streaming most of my writing days over on my Twitch channel.
